School Hours/Calendar

The school hours will be from 9:00am to 3:30pm. The school will be open to students from 8:00am to 9:00am and 3:30pm to 6:00pm only upon special request and arrangements made in advance. Students may arrive and leave school when they want provided they stay for at least five hours per day and maintain the following minimum weekly hours: 25 hours per week for ages 10 and above, 20 hours per week for ages 6 to 9, and 15 hours per week for ages 4 to 5.

The school will follow Broward County’s public school calendar for the 2011/2012 school year, including holidays and employee planning days.

First day of school: August 22, 2011

Last day of school: June 7, 2012

Winter Break: December 19, 2011 thru December 30, 2011

Spring Break: March 12, 2012 thru March 16, 2012

Holiday Schedule: September 5, September 29, November 11, November 23, November 24, November 25, January 16, February 20, April 6 and May 28

Planning Days: October 28, January 20, March 30 and May 25

In case of hurricanes, Sunset Sudbury School will follow the closing and early dismissal of Broward County School Board.
