School Hours/Calendar

The school hours will be from 8:00am to 3:30pm. After-care is available to students from 3:30pm to 5:30pm only upon special request and arrangements made in advance. Students may arrive and leave school when they want provided they stay for at least five hours per day and maintain the following minimum weekly hours: 25 hours per week for ages 10 and above, 20 hours per week for ages 7 to 9, and 15 hours per week for ages 4 to 6.

The school will follow Broward County’s public school calendar for its first year (see below), including holidays and employee planning days. Afterwards, the school calendar will be set by the Assembly (parents, students, and staff).

First day of school: August 23, 2010

Last day of school: June 9, 2011

Winter Break: December 20, 2010 thru December 31, 2010

Spring Break: March 14, 2011 thru March 18, 2011

Holiday Schedule: September 6, September 9, November 11, November 24, November 25, November 26, January 17, February 21, April 22, and May 30

Planning Days: October 29, November 2, January 24, and April 4

In case of hurricanes, Sunset Sudbury School will follow the closing and early dismissal of Broward County School Board.
